District Institute of Education & Training (DIET), Malda has well decorated very big Campus.  DIET, malda is situated at Sovanagar, distance from Sovanagar to Malda Railway Station is 22 Km. It is connected through road.

It is a Bengali medium co-educational residential institute. It attempts at complete manifestation & growth of the potential of the trainees through the processes of learning & character building.

Our Mission

Our mission at District Institution of Education and Training is to bring about the some changes in conventional method of teaching and to push the new methodology in Trainee teachers. In collaboration with SCERT and other state level apex bodies we try to agglutinate holistic approach in their teaching methodology. We have a strong believe on pupil centric learning hence keeping in mind of RTE 2009 ACT we have designed our teaching methodology to make them conversant with a learning process which calls for all round development of a child. Here we try to provide quality training with new approach which serves the modern need to root out the problems at Grassroots level. We works with various projects and also involve the Trainee in the project, as involvement in educational research and works helps to amplify their capability in ameliorating the condition of child learning. We provide training to develop all indispensable qualities to make capable of handling all students from God gifted child to CWSN in all adverse circumstances.

Our Vision

Our vision is to make education an interesting and comprehensible to every child at an ease. Every child should have their basic education which considers the basement of the higher education, fundamentally strong and sturdy. We can visualize our Bengal where knowledge is assimilated not copied. Therefore our continuous strive is going on to sweep out hackneyed learning process of memorizing. We try to build an educator proficient in his field and capable of handling all sort of inaccessible matter of education at an ease. Together we can make education affordable comprehensible and enjoyable one.

Principal Message

The concept of DIET outcome of NPE 1986 and POA ( Programme of Action) 1992 confronts a district level educational institution to support academic function and teacher empowerment throughout the district. DIET Malda is considered the nodal institution for improving the basic quality in Elementary Education. Elementary education is the base of a quality education which further facilitates the higher education and also considered the parent layer of educational system profile. Here we have been continuously striving towards the enhancement of the quality in teaching methodology .Here we are focusing towards two dimensions of teacher education-Pre-service training and another In service training of human resources.
Responsibility of our diet grows multifold and not limited to as an institution which only imparts
training. We have been working on developing innovative skills in teacher trainee to capable them to find out latent excellence in a child. Our DIET has been serving the district since 2004 and till now we have accomplished so many educational projects in collaboration with SCERT and NCERT for enhancing potentials in a Trainee Teacher.
Our institution always tries to ameliorate Good qualities in Trainee and In-service Teachers to
nourish their inner excellences.
Since it’s inception it has been aiming to provide good quality education and support academic
resources at grass root level for sustainable development of education and universalisation of
elementary education. It covers up 17 educational blocks and …… Circles. As the institution
aims for the holistic development of a trainee teacher we have integrated ICT in classroom
transaction to impart effective Learning which helps to transmit the same to next level i.e Pupil.
We need to glorify our heritage of institution and let not our deeds to blaspheme our glorious
history inside or outside the campus.
